EV Charging Cost Comparison
Pick your car, or enter its efficiency directly, and see what a mile actually costs across every way of charging (or fuelling) it.

This uses the site's default solar self-consumption assumption (around 40%). Try our energy cost calculator first and this column personalizes itself to your own result.
Assumes a standard home tariff around 26p/kWh, an overnight EV tariff around 7p/kWh, a public rapid charger at 60p to 90p/kWh, and petrol at around 160p/litre in a car doing 37mpg, the same figures published on our EV charger cost guide. The solar-offset column treats self-used generation as costing what it would otherwise have earned in Smart Export Guarantee payments, not zero. First time seeing "kWh"? Our plain-English guide explains it.
