The Evo Max Super row is the least certain of the seven: our sources disagreed with each other on both its wattage (455W vs 480W) and efficiency (21.1% vs 22.18%), which usually means it’s a range covering more than one panel in the series rather than one exact spec. A warranty worth checking before you rely on it
SunPower’s Maxeon panels carry the longest marketed warranty on this list, up to 40 years, but the manufacturer behind them is not in a position most 40-year promises assume. Maxeon Solar Technologies filed for judicial management in Singapore on 1 April 2026, was placed under interim judicial management on 9 April, and was delisted from Nasdaq on 1 May 2026, according to its own SEC filings. None of that stops panels already on a roof from generating electricity, the hardware doesn’t depend on the manufacturer staying listed, but a 40-year warranty is only as good as who’s still around to honour it in year 30. If a quote includes SunPower Maxeon panels, it’s worth asking your installer directly who backs the warranty now, the same question worth asking about any GivEnergy battery kit still being quoted.
Project Solar’s own Evo Max Super range raises a smaller version of the same question: it’s marketed with a lifetime product warranty, which is unusual for a single installer to offer on hardware it doesn’t manufacture itself. Worth asking who’s actually standing behind that promise, and for how long, before treating “lifetime” as a number.
